Hersheypark's DARK NIGHTS - Halloween Season Opening Night
This vlog shows my adventure with my mobility scooter and vlog regular, Pam, at Hersheypark! Neither of us had been to Hersheypark, and it was exciting to go on the opening night of their Halloween season which fell on the spooky date of Friday the 13th of September in 2024!
If you have any questions, let me know in the comments! I will also be posting the following vlogs and accessibility reviews from this trip: Hershey's Chocolate World, a Scoot Coupe Tour of Amish Country, and the Loews Hotel and Walk Around Philadelphia.
As you can see in the video, I went to guest services to sign up for the Accessibility Program. I explained how it works in the video, but I was very pleased with it! As other places scale back their disability reasonable accommodations, I am happy to be welcomed at Hershey where they proudly accommodate for disabled theme park enthusiasts.
There are several quiet locations available to guests throughout Hersheypark that provide both privacy and relief from sensory stimulation. These spaces are located at Pioneer Frontier area Guest Services inside the Family Health & Services Center and Kissing Tower Hill area Guest Services.
Wheelchair and Electric Convenience Vehicles (ECV) for ADULTS (must be 18 years of age or older to rent an ECV) may be rented in Chocolatetown adjacent to the Ticketing Services Building. ECV rental price: $65.00. Manual wheelchair rental price: $30.00. Hershey's website also provides more accessibility details.
I brought along my action cam, and it caught some great scares live! The video does show some of these scares and strobe lights, so be prepared for that.
My favorite ride was Reese's Cupfusion. I love these kinds of rides where it is a contest. It was also around 5 minutes long which is amazing! I also appreciated the different level seats that I could transfer into. The staff were also very helpful.
This night was also my first time not only going into a haunted house but riding on a Ferris Wheel. Two entirely different but awesome experiences! I definitely recommend trying to get on the Ferris Wheel around sunset.
Hersheypark is known for their extreme thrill rides, but I still had a ton of fun despite avoiding the rollercoasters. There is a great variety of rides for little kids that I still would have enjoyed, but we were only there on Friday so the park didn't open until 5 pm. The hours on Saturday and Sunday are more full days during the Halloween season. Going during a themed time like Halloween or Christmas is definitely something that I would do again because there is so much to see, amazing theming from the food to the decor (and jump scares!), and the staff really goes the extra mile.
Thank you Hersheypark for hosting us for this sweet adventure!
